Carrier chiller 30hxc140 fault code 101.

    hi all

    Pro dialog shows fault 101.
Compressor does not start yet these means compressor high temp.
    Have reset high press switch.
Resistance of motor sensor reads same ad working compressors.
I reset fault at controller but returns before compressor runs.

    Any ideas my good people?

    Regards

    Mark

This is a motor temp sensor alarm (above 110 C) check on display what it reads, there is a back up sensor beside it if you want to check the current sensor. Could be motor cooling solenoids not working properly or possibly even short of refrigerant

    Thanks Gibbo,

no wiring diagram with manual or on unit just noticed pcb with motor sensor on it. will check the back up sensor.
cant see the issue being with refrigerant charge as compressor does not run, equalised pressures should enable at least a compressor start. Will have to try and find a diagram somewhere to locate motor cooling solanoids. Cant believe Carrier no longer have a technical assistance dept.

    thanks again.
