Help with Bosch KGH34X44GB

Hi All,

I hope someone can help me or point me in the right direction, I'd really appreciate it. My just out of warranty :-( fridge freezer starting playing up a couple of months ago. The fridge started warming up and then cooling down again so I checked the thermostat and it seemed to worked. Anyway I have been working away for a few weeks and when I returned the fridge was warm and the freezer had semi defrosted and the element at the top was all frozen up, anyway I've defrosted it completely and cleaned it out.

If the autodefrost mechanism was failing could this cause the fridge to play up?
