    Split system not functioning

I am having problems with my office split system (SRK35ZG-S). The fault light on the indoor unit flashes 7 times stating that "outdoor fan motor error" i checked out the motor but decided to replace it..new motor fitted and still same problem..The outdoor compressor starts to ramp up but the fan motor fails to start and unit shuts down then flashes the fault lights again....any ideas???

timer light flashes 7 times- any flash from the run light- as this can indicate a different fault

On the srk 63 they also have a fuse on the underside of the board which is soldered to pcb. If it has gone, you will need to piggyback another fuse on to it to get it to run. Not sure about the smaller machines, but worth a look.

mhi condenser fan motors have a pcb within the motor so you cannot test it. also speed is detected too

You have a BLDC motor there.
Not sure of the colours but from the 300V DC end, next wire is neutral, then 15V DC to power internal PCB, next is speed input signal, last is speed output.
DC voltage easy to test. I'm not sure on exact values for the speed input and output as I've not checked these myself but I'd imagine you could measure some kind of voltage.
You can measure an AC voltage generated from the fan between the neutral and 300V wires (plug off PCB) when motor is spun.

Ensure power has been off for a few minutes before unplugging motor or the 300V can jump across and cause havoc.
Health and safety first..........unless I'm in a hurry.
