UK Refrigeration Engineer apprenticeship help
Hey,
(sorry if this is in the wrong forum), im a college student looking to drop out and seek an apprenticeship in the industry of Refrigeration/Air Conditioning engineer.
I just really want to know if it's a good/interesting career? I'd hate to do years of apprenticeship work, and realise i hate it. Is it good pay in the industry?
also, does anybody know companies in the UK that offer apprenticeships (im currently enquiring at york UK)
thanks, and sorry if i posted this in the wrong place

You are either smitten or not
Money factor is not a useful yardstick........Hence so many "proffessionals" end up as retired and happy carpenters or plumbers.
They went into their occupations for the wrong reasons

It would also help if we knew what part of the UK 12 Ann Grove resides in.
No point in asking for help from someone in Cornwall when you live in Scotland - if you know what I mean.

Re: UK Refrigeration Engineer apprenticeship help
you join a trade for love not money and you'll succeed, you join some thing just for money you will fail and be miserable all the way down!
Research it, and that will give you an idea!
I started it as a hobby and loved it, I still do it as a hobby and work, I have a collection of fridges in my house that I rebuild and toy with!
Moral of the story, unless you have fun while doing the mechanics you won't be able to survive the customers!

Re: UK Refrigeration Engineer apprenticeship help
I am also studying the Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technical Certificate 6127 and the Refrigerant Handling Certificate 2078 at the Manchester college.
I am from Preston and would love to be employed getting the essential practical experience and skills to go along side my studies but it just so difficult to get your foot into the industry. very frustrating
any advice or another route into the industry?
i just cant wait to be employed and just do the work, i cant start my success story if no one takes me on.
thanks
