    max operating temperature

    HI guys

would anyone of you technical experts out there have an idea on the maximum operating temp of R22 and R410A say if the ambient temp were to get to 55 degrees C your input would be most welcome

I can fix broke but I cant fix stupid :)

Been to 50C, hard to breath, burn your lungs, cooling units just running, you'll have to wait and see, I think they will survive it, just.

Check a PT chart for temp/pressures.

Check MSDS sheet for critical temperatures.

itd be getting pretty close to your HP cut out i think. R22 lines up to 1840kpa at 50*c on my PT chart and r410 lines up with 2960kpa at 50*c. and condensing temp need to be higher by at least (?)15*C(?) on top of ambient so you get a plenty of liquid

    Re: max operating temperature

    .

Most air cooled systems are sized to have about 15 degC temp differance
    above ambient temps.

So if the ambient was at 40 degC the the condensing temp would be about 55 degC.

The critical temp for R22 is 96 degC and R410 is 74degC.

On paper that reads as 81 degC and 59 degC respective ambients.

But the ststems would not tolerate that.
It is higher than EN 378 pressure test standards for those refrigerants.

I would say R22 does not want to be much above 22barg or about 40degC
and R410A does not want to be above 34 barg.

But as others have said they may run higher.

    Regards

    Rob

    Si

Get the Bitzer app for your phone, as Rob says critical temps are very close to your ambient, there is bugger all you can do about the temperature but it would be feasible to replace the charge when it cools down, at those temps you must have issues with refrigerant breakdown?
