Just be yourself. No one will bite you though they might pull some tricks on a new blood.
learn the rules of the new place quick, if you think you have missed something, make sure they will explain again.
write down important things and numbers.
Never show off!
Keep your fly zipped.
Best of luck!!

Re: Is that shepards pie in my knickers?!
Just get on with it do your job the best you can.
One point alot may agree or disagree dont run around like a mad man trying to impress because it will be expected from then on.
quality is better than quantity.
And as Chemi-cool said write down numbers you will need and names you need to know ie who you need to get intouch with for what.
If there is new equipment you are working on spend that little more time getting familiar with it so you become self sufficient.
The main and most important point if you are unsure about somthing ASK.your only as good as your last job

Re: Is that shepards pie in my knickers?!
When being introduced to your new work mates, try to remember their names.
Starting at the bottom of the pecking order, there is going to be some practical jokes played on you and it will feel like you are a first year apprentice again.
Beware of the grape vine, say something to one of them, and the rest will soon know, but the story varies as it is passed along. Your new boss will usually hear the worst version.
Feeling nervous? Follow advise from Stufus. To the optimist, the glass is half full. To the pessimist, the glass is half empty.

Re: Is that shepards pie in my knickers?!
So true. Different firms I've worked for I've initially been a bit worried their employees are top notch and will show me up. In practice I've kept schtum and watched what goes on and in all cases found the bulk of the blokes weren't really up to much and those that were keen to improve themselves fitted in with my way of thinking / working. The bosses have seemed to know who talks bull and who they can trust.
Good luck,
Cheers,
Andy.Health and safety first..........unless I'm in a hurry.

Good luck with the new job. Just take your time and everything will be fine. I moved employers after 39 years at one firm, that was real scary for the first few days.
Mobile A/C at its best, see avatar.
