Cool IoR, any body here a member?

    Afternoon gentlemen,

Just got an offer to join the IoR but can't really figure out what the benefits are.

So is there anyone on here that is a member and don't mind telling me if it's a good thing or not?
    PM if you prefer...

Re: IoR, any body here a member?

I had a service Eng membership, due to being a apprentice they gave me 1 years membership..
it's good they got a good variety of updates / PDF files you can download on various A/C and refrigeration
mainly just safe practise's and how to check certain components etc
it was good for me as i was saving all the files and was revising from these notes to help me get through college and widen my knowledge,
also get discounted products for being a member

    Thanks,
    Luke

I am not yet a member, but am seriously considering it.
As my friend and colleague is one.
As a member there is free access to a huge number of technical papers and advice for free.
Just check out their website and see what I mean.

An interesting site to someone like yourself, I would assume?

Well worth it V, i've been a member of the irish one and found it beneficial, although it is only 100euros.

The Service Engineers Section gives you access to a lot of free downloads from the Inst. R. web site. There are guidance notes on all aspects of Refrigeration and A/C. Updates on 2079 and Refcom registration have been sent out to members
If you want to keep up to date and learn more about the job it is good value

Been a member of the Service Engineers Section for 12 years. As mentioned earlier, good publications and access to website info. Good value for money.

You can use TMInstR if you have 2079 and a minimum of 3 years practical experience

I am a member both in the IOR and service engineer section. Very good papers and practical guidelines. Forget the letters at the end of your name!? Pay attention to the info you get.
I suggest that everyone in this business become a member. But there are some membership rules in IOR, like relevant university degree ,... But SES is much easier to become a member.
