    compressor impeller



    Dear friends

    I am trying to open the impeller of mcQuay centrifugal compressor type ce079laq32jcx and I need your help to know if the bolt tightining the impeller is left handed or right handed
    chiller model is( WSC 079 ).

    hi , not sure of the latest model but if you look at the leading, edge of the impellor you will see which way it turns to scoop the gas into the suction < same princypul as a fan blade< I am quite sure its left hand thread , on the older models there was a hole in the casting that lines up with a hole in the low speed wheel so that you can get leverage ,
    but I am suprised you are working on this type of centrif without the Mc quay bible ?
    after removing the socket head bolt you may see a thread on the inside of the impellor this is to assist to push off the impellor off the shamford diameter of the high speed shaft , happy dismantling = sedgy
