    Haier Chillers

Can anyone tell me if they have come into contact with a chiller made by the company Haier. From some information I have been able to obtain they seem to be using Turbocor technology. I'd like to know how reliable they are and how well they are manufactured.

Many moons ago, back when The Viking were but a young apprentice he did come across a couple of Haier units...

Complete and utterly rubbish one is afraid to say.
Fans installed the wrong way around, wiring diagrams not corresponding to equipment they were attached to and non return valves fitted the wrong way around are the main problems I recall now.

Admittingly this were some 25 odd years ago now so things might have improved...

    Israeli built IIRC.

The big question to ask is what their technical backup and spares availability is like in your neck of the woods.

    Sorry viking.
Haier is chinese company, there is no manufacturer here by that name.

You must have read it wrong, IIRC was most probably PRC.

Spoke to someone today who was replacing a couple of Haier cassettes.
He said they make LG look good so not a raving endorsement.

    Cheers,
    Andy.

    Hi BB
Haier are using the Danfoss turbocur compressors on their chillers, as do PowerPax in Australia. I have worked on a couple of powerPax units and are good well made systems.

    Hi Magoo,

Can't say I am 100% sure if they are using turbocor technology or not the information I have suggests they are, I would like to know if they are Danfoss manufactured(in the US) or perhaps another manufacturer, they may even be Danfoss in China
