Need a miniature refrigeration unit
Hi All,
I am new to the site and looking for any advice to either build my own mini refrigeration unit based on the tiny Aspen compressor or for someone to design the system for me. I need to cool approximately 1.5 cubic feet, ambient room temperature, to ~33 to 40F. The overall system needs to fit into a space no taller than 4 inches, by 8 inches wide and 12 inches deep. This includes the Aspen compressor, evaporator, condenser, fans, etc.
My hope is that there is some expert on this site who can design this for me (on contract or ??). Otherwise, any info that anyone can give me to do it myself would be great!!
Thanks to all for reading this.

Re: Need a miniature refrigeration unit
You need to start with the cooling duty needed to cool your space and the heat load of what yous putting in it.
Then size the system to suit.
Have a look at 'peltier' devices, much easier to make yourself and more robust for such a small system than a vapour compression system.Mostly found in Oxfordshire, UK :)

.
I agree with Monkey Spanners and suggest a peltier system.
You might even find one that is suitable in a picknic hamper
or other such box.

I can design the system for you, but building an evaporator and condenser for one proto unit would cost a lot .
