    maccy's install

greetings gents, im quoting for replacing old dying trane rooftop unis- im hoping to install mitsi splits
is there any spec of prefered manufacturer or reason why i cant fit ducted units-would prefer to fit cassettes-but i dont think ronald mcdonald would approve-
by the way -this is a franchise store and the trane gas fired cooling only units have been well butchered.

You will mess up the air flow. Each a/c unit is balanced against the others to give the correct air flow. Installing in celing anything will lose the make up air and affect the air across the counter..

also my understanding is that every mac's is linked to a central command to monitor the air con and extract.

It may be a franchise but the building is owned my Macdonalds so be careful about getting authority to work from the landlord not the tenent

There shouldn't be any issues if the existing kit is buggered, i've worked on a good few sites here and the franchisee has the authority to change gear out so long as the dining "experience" is not affected! Keep the air in/out at the kitchen side as per original spec, the seating area can be treated separately.
