Vac Pump Cfm

Hi All,

I'm buying a vac pump next week, any recommendations?

looking at something 240v is ok, quiet, fairly fast.

Im not sure of Cfm rating, i honestly haven't looked at my company one in years!

Will be used mainly on VRF systems

Should look for something dual voltage 110/240 and a CFM rating of 8 or above
But I'm sure opinions will vary

Cheers Mate, I was thinking a 6 or 8 after using one of the install guys pumps

You need bigger hose to get the best out of a vac pump, can only get 0.8cfm down a 1/4" 6ft hose.

I have a 5cfm yellow jacket pump, does the job but not impressed with it.

Doesn't like starting in cool weather (advised to keep it in the cab of the van! imagine that in an accident ffs), the check valve to stop oil being sucked out if the power goes off leaks by, it never reaches 50microns even with new oil in with just the gauge on the pump. The rep for YJ at the show didn't seem interested in the issues.

We have a cheap Dosivac pump that just gets on with the job.

Think i'll look at JB for my next pump, or possible a Appion TEZ8 but thats a bit big for the suff i work on.

The last 5 CFM Yellow Jacket pump was built almost 20 years ago! Try a new 6 CFM and I'm sure you will be happy. Cold starts are NOT a problem with the newer vacuum pumps, and they have features that J/B can't match.
