is this possible - URGENT
Hi,
I have a 5 HP rotary compressor and I'd like to bring 3000 liter of water (for a spa) from 30 degree C down to 5 degree C.
Is it possible to do so with 5 HP compressor, and if it is, roughly how long will it take? Thanks!

Is this compressor part of chiller?
Are you considering building a chiller?
Is the water in a storage container or do you need to chill it whilst flowing?
Let us have some more informationLocation, United Kingdom

Re: is this possible - URGENT
The 5HP (+/- 45.000 BTU) is a part of a chiller unit, the water will be contained in a concrete space (for a spa).
So the water from the spa will be pumped into the chiller/cooling coil, then circulated back into the spa.

Is the storage tank insulated or is this "concrete space" part of the spa?
If as you state the water is at 30C does this reflect the fact that the surrounding space is at a similar temperature?
What is the water to be used for in the spa, is it a cold plunge pool?Location, United Kingdom

Re: is this possible - URGENT
To decrease 1 liter of water to a degree required 1 Kcal in 1 hour, then to decrease 3000 liters of 25 degrees needed 75,000 fr / h (64.5 KW), a compressor 5hp with R407C makes about 12,500 fr /, making the calculation with this potential will take about 6 hours, so if the water is completely isolated from external heat sources.

Re: is this possible - URGENT
Sorry I should've been more clearer (pardon my English)...
This is for a cold spa, so the water itself will be in the spa tube made of concrete with ceramic tiles.
The spa itself will be in an enclosed room, separated from the hot water spa.
The surrounding area should be around 30°C most of the time because of the tropical climate down here (Indonesia).
