Question troubleshoot a two door storage room

Hi all.We have a two door storage room with a static evaporator, capillary feeding type, in the middle distance between the dryer and the room the capillary is cold (it’s supposed to be little warm), an ice collected on the capillary tube when the tube enters the room and a big block of ice formed on the first 10 cm of the evaporator And the rest of evaporator is not cold enough to drop down the temperature of the room The low pressure is 2 bar (R22). What could be the problem? Lack of feeding clogged capillary tube or filter. The system maybe modified (it's an old storage room).

Unit does not have enough refrigerant.
    Probably a bad evaporator

    Good luck

an ice collected on the capillary tube when the tube enters the room and a big block of ice formed on the first 10 cm of the evaporator
could be looking at a restriction or shortage, without looking up press/temp comparasons for R22, I would say that the gas charge should be looked at.

And the rest of evaporator is not cold enough to drop down the temperature of the room
Sounds like the evap is not full of liquid - another sure sign to check the charge.

The low pressure is 2 bar (R22).
What temp are you trying to evaporate at?
Do you have any readings for the high side?

Try to measure the difference in temperature (mesure pipe line 10 cm before filter dryer and 10 cm after filter) If the temperature diference is biger then 1 K then replace the filter. The evaporating temperature reading on the gauge should be 14 K lover the desire temperature in the room.

    good luck

sounds like gas charge low if cap blocked would expect low side in a vacume but check high side someone may of overcharged system thinking gas charge low because of a blockage , most likely sog though
chill out it's only a fridge

William, I think that you are a little late in thoughts on this one, check the date of the previous post

Always nice/polite if you come back once here - even if it's weeks later - and tell us what you've found.
We've taken the efforts to answer your questions, to give possible solutions, so the least we can expect is some feedback.
It's better to keep your mouth shut and give the impression that you're stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.
