    Re: high ambient

Used to tinker with the fridges at a hospital in Bordon.
A row of 3 or 4 single door fridges and freezers on R12 (freezer), R134a and R404A. 12" of room between top of units and ceiling, air on to coil about the 40*C mark. Told the bloke he need to sort something out (I was there for a fan motor fault) regarding this.

"Yeah, people have been saying this for years but the management wont don anything" he says.

Somehow the units kept chugging away at those temperatures and they were pretty old too which surprised me.

    Cheers,
    Andy.

I thought that there was a requirement of around 30°C to prevent potential damage to electrical services.

you would think when they plan these kitchens they would put an extract above where the integral fridges are to be located especialy when they have 4 in a row. the reason i say this you even see brand new places (kitchens) with this issue not alot of thought goes into planning somtimes. went to a site the other day with 4 x multi deck integrals in a line they didnt stand a chance no A/C working in the shop the chocolate was even soft on the shelves.
your only as good as your last job
