I would like some one helpe me to understanding principles of valves system design for small hermetic compressor

In its simplist form a valve can consist of a sprung metal plate pressed over a hole to close it off. When the pressure under the sprung plate increases to more than the spring pressure the plate will lift and allow the higher pressure to pass through the hole.
The pressure within the compressor being raised by the piston rising in the cylinder.Brian - Newton Abbot, Devon, UK
