    Aermec Chiller Evaporator Punctured

    Hi Guys:

Checked out this clients chiller and managed to get the replacement and carried out the replacement now the water in the system has a very foul smell the client says it is due to the oil and refrigerant which got mixed with the water and caused the smell can anybody recommend the best way to flush this. What agent can be used to clean out the oil

    Hi meab
Easy way is to do ph test on water and add neutraliser (alkaline) to bring back to normal. Drain water and refill, bleed air from top. Problem with using a degreaser is some older type valves may start leaking but it may need it - how much oil is in there? it will decrease heat transfer. If there is no chemical dosing pot on the system install one. consult local chemical treatment company they will know their products best. When refrigerant mixes with water it forms acids - hydrochloric & another one which I can't remember.
