    ammonia system pump down or not?



    hello everybody.....

    can somebody pls advice me do i need to pump down and stop the ammonia system or just keeping running with empty cold store around 6 month???

    1. what is the difference cost between? advantages ?
    2. Any problem if i running the system after long period ?
    3. will the entire system change to worse ?

    Simply put, whether to mothball (switch off your plant) will depend upon what you intend to do with it after the six months.
    Most cold stores are run at just below freezing for extended periods of inactivity.
    To allow the chambers to defrost would be foolish.
    Because the infrastructure can be compramised if its component parts are allowed to thaw out.
    Plus to pull the chambers back down to temperature is a time consuming thing.
    Otherwise frost heave can cause huge damage.

    Simply put maintain your chamber temps just below freezing in the short term.
    At least until you have discussed what the plans are!
