what is the standard threads used on gauges, flares, unions etc BSP UNF UNC AF or something else

sae on gauges hoses,flares-npt on fittings that screw onto components ie drain plugs- suction valves etc

Reason I ask is I ma after a new OFN guage I can get one with BSP outlet I cant tell what the thread that is tapped into the body so I was thinking about a direct couplingDev

they do fittings at climate ctr- look through for 1/8 bsp to 1/4sae brass fitting-dont forget the ptfe or threadlock - climate ctr do nitro gauges with the 1/4 sae connection already fitted- dont get a 10 bar gauge -go for the 50 bar

I recommend that anyone working in a mechanical trade obtain a copy of Machinery's Handbook. Everything you need to know about fasteners, thread standards, tubing and pipe sizes, wire and sheet metal gages, strength of materials, gear dimensions, and on and on is found in this one volume.
