F Gas Police

I live near a air conditioning company you regularly see redundant a/c or fridge units being removed via a white transit tipper. On occasion you see the gas pis*ing out. Is there anyway to stop this. People like this are giving us a bad name!

Rather better to actually confront them about what you see. That way they have the opportunity to respond. Maybe they don't know about the rules! Then you can shop them later on.

I agree. Perhaps they don't realize that gas is being leaked during the transportation. You should inform them that what they are doing is wrong and if they don't stop then you can go to the authorities with it.

I wouldn't advocate confronting the culprits as they will most likely tell you where to go, and then if you do send in the troops ... they may come looking for you?
keep it under control, phone the local council's environment officer and have a chat with them.

Countless reputable contractors and one man operators spend thousands of pounds in time as well as cash to gain the required certifications to carry out refrigeration works within the required legislations.
Cowboy's such as you describe are not only endangering the environment but they are also endangering our livelihood by being able to under-cut legitimate contractors quotes for works and in general giving all of us a bad name.
So for the good of the environment and the industry as a whole I would urge you to SHOP the B******'S sooner rather than later.
