    Samsung RSA1DHMH

    Hello folks

side by side fridge / freezer with water/ icemaker

i need some info on how to adjust the freezer door, the bottom right hand corner is not sealing causing frost in the freezer. the unit is level & vertical. Aquired from mother inlaw delivered by removal company. Also is it normal on this style of freezer for the temp to vary on it's own or is this due to the door problem?

    thanks

was the doors removed when the fridge was moved and installed? have you checked the door seals to make sure no gaps and sealing correctly, as there is no real adjustment on these doors, just three bolts at top to hold in place.. if not cooling as it should then 1st thing put it into error code mode and see if it shows any faults

I don’t know your model, normally household freezers have non-adjustable hinges.

What you should do is change the door gasket.

You may temporarily fix it inflating the seal injecting silicone beneath, but it won’t last.

You can check the seal pushing a thin sheet of paper. If it goes in between, the gasket is not closing the gap.

The gap in the door could affect the temperature for short periods. On long periods it could be the thermostat.

A malfunctioning thermostat can also produce frost inside.

its the freezer side so a bit of frost is a good sign!

the doors were removed & there is a gap between seal & frame of about 3-4 MM for about 18 inches from the bottom of the door up.i can feel the cold air coming out. i have removed the bottom drawer to make sure it's not that causing the prob.

Is the floor level? If not it can twist the cabinet and the door won't seal as its not twisted too... Usually theres some screwy iny outy feet, might have been fine till it was filled up with food as the increased weight has an effect.

check theres no play in the door when its open to ensure theres no nylon inserts missing-as monkey spanners says slackening off the bracket will give you some movement to possibly align

door is solid when open, & there's ver little movement with the top bracket loose .
there is a screw on the lower hinge but very difficult to get to to adjust

did they take the doors off and the brackets- if so did they cross the fridge door brackets with the freezer brackets ?- it would be easier to check it if you unplug it . could take the milk /bottles out- pull the fridge forward about 18inch and tilt it back so it rests against the wall and put something underneath to stop it crushing ur fingers

Not in nofrost ... at least not permanently.

I inflated my door gasket with silicone and you can't tell it's not original work ... ok, ok I know someday it may come to bite me where it hurts! )

i was at work when they dropped it of so don't know other than "they took the doors off". the fridge door has a height adjuster screw at the bottom , freezer door is just bolted onto the housing

does anyone have a service manual? or point me in the right direction. no point connecting the water up for ice till i get this door sorted
