Munters Rotaire operate in Australia, from memory desicant wheels require regular cleaning and retreatment on a regular basis.

    Re: Desiccant Wheel

I have worked on munters , cargocaire of usa ,desiccant wheel to maintain an rh of 5 to 10 % . Cleaning can be minimized by installing fine filters in return air to the wheel. I used to vacuum clean the wheel on a monthly basis. However,it will depend on the application ,hygene of the area for which it is used . With the kind of maintenance ,the wheel is still operating since installation in1976. Besides, the sample of the core should be checked for its effective drying capacity ,in other words the desiccant dryness should be established in a lab .
