Re-using reclaimed R-407C
Hello
I know that if you have a leak on a system with an R400 series refrigerant in it, all refrigerant in the system must be reclaimed due to temperature glide leaving an incorrect refrigerant composition.
What about if their was no leak on the unit, but the condenser has to be moved, and pump-down is not an option, can the R-407C refrigerant be completely reclaimed into a reclaim cylinder, then charged back into the unit after the install? A correctly carried out full reclaim would not effect the refrigerant composition would it?
Cheers

Re: Re-using reclaimed R-407C
You are of course right, if you get the full charge out then providing there isn't any other problem it can be reused.
Just make sure you use a clean reclaim cylinder

Re: Re-using reclaimed R-407C
Halfcan.
Because some of the refrigerant has leaked out, does not necessarily mean that all the refrigerant has to be recovered.
Originally that was the advise given, but it has been proven on numerous occasions that Topping up a
Zeotropic gas is acceptable.
Where the leak has been can influence how the charge is dealt with!

Re: Re-using reclaimed R-407C
You can get reciever cylinders from Climate center, they are cleaned between uses unlike recovery ones so would be a good idea to stop you getting any comtaminants in the R407C while you are working.
Mostly found in Oxfordshire, UK :)
