Lightbulb Cooling coil design for ice machines

    Hi guys
Does anybody know something about the overall heat transfer coefficient of copper tubes with R-22 or a similar gas inside and brine at the outside of the tube? I`m planning to design our cooling coil for ice machines but couldn`t find the heat transfer coefficient since last two months ago.i would appreciate if anyone can help me in this field.
ps: as you already know, the overall heat transfer coefficient can be calculated by using the conduction heat transfer coefficient of copper tube and the convection heat transfer coefficient of refrigeration gases such as R-22 or etc and finally using the convection heat transfer coefficient of brine. I mean if anybody could give me these parameters i can calculate the overall coefficient by using nuselt or etc.
thank you in advance and hope to hear from you dears very soon

Haven't a clue sorry! Could measure how much 5/8" pipe is in a 100Kw icebuilder tomorrow if thats any help?

Why are you using brine if you want to make ice?
Mostly found in Oxfordshire, UK :)

Not quite as easy as a simple calc,
    Is it a critical design?
With or with out ice (how much),
If with ice base, you calcs upon energy transfer through the ice. this the determining factor not through the copper.

Check the vogt site, will give you some idea on tubes, tube lengths etc., a starting point anyway
