    hello
i want to ask what is the effect of Suction Superheat in flooded evaporator using ammonia ?
does it same as in case of dry evaporator ?

pushcar, no superheat on this type of system.

Liquid recirculation or overfeed has a rate of example 4 to 1
4 kg of refrigerant sent to evaporator, 3 comes back as liquid & 1 kg converted to saturated gas.
No real superheat is measured, only air on/off temps as per design or if surge drum, correct level is achieved
by approx liquid feed solonoid on 70% of the time under full load conditions. Set manual expansion valve to meet above requirments.

There was a really good thread on this sometime back.

US Iceman wrote a paper on this. One of the best I have read. It is on the Internet, and a link is probably in the thread. I have it on my computer and will find it sooner or later.

Some of it starts from post number 97 on above thread.
