    Frozen filter drier

    Need some urgent help, Please.

Temperature in our cold storage suddenly becomes warm. Compressor is running but I noticed that there are ice building up on the filter drier and the TXV. Is it an indication of clogged filter, co'z the unit was running perfectly before. Also I noticed that the compressor has very little oil. What is the suitable oil for my compressor. It was from Carrier and the refrigerant is 134A.

    Thanks!!!

    Re: Frozen filter drier

You are right, drier is blocked, refrigerant flows slower, oil doe's not return.
Replace the drier and see how the temp drop.

    Re: Frozen filter drier

If you have enough oil to run the compressor, don't fill with new oil the installation. It will go back to the oil separator / compressor once you have changed the filter and started again the installation.
