DELUXE K745131 Fridge Freezer

I have a Deluxe Fridge Freezer. I have set the thermostat to number 4 and the Freezer is not Freezing. The compressor turns itself on and off as normal, and is not getting hot.
Am I right in thinking that if it was low on gas the compressor will keep running?
Is it worthwhile to try and replace the thermostat?
If so which thermostat do I need?
I repair washing machines so mechanically Electrical minded.

you would most likley find the compressor will run and cut out on the clixon if it is short of gas.
how long does the comp run for?
how is the fridge controlled?
is there one stat or 2 stats?
if im right i think some domestic fridges/freezers have 1 x stat for the freezer and cold air from the freezer cools the fridge.
or you can also have dual stats with dual files if that is the case could you have a faulty stat?
when the comp cuts out is there power to the comp?

The compressor runs for about 10 minutes then turns off about 15 minutes and the back on again.
The Fridge/freezer has one stat
If low on gas how do you regas them?
I was thinking of reconditioning Fridge/freezers
