Daikin Q VRV replacement unit
Hi chaps
Anyone got any experience of these bad boys both from installing and operational after care?

TIA :-)

Re: Daikin Q VRV replacement unit
The best option for replacing old Daikin R22 VRV systems.
Heat Pump - Options
1. Change outdoor only and keep indoor units if no older than K-series. (check with DUK first).
2. Change outdoor and indoor units.
Heat Recovery - Options
1. Change outdoor, BS units and keep indoor units, again, same as above applies.
2. Change outdoor, BS units and indoor units.
Refnets
1. Check existing refnets are installed correctly before replacing any of the old system with new.
2. Check that the distance between the first refnet and the furthest fan coil isn't above 40 metres (measuring the route of the pipe work).
BS boxes
1. Brazed connections.
2. 5 expansion valves these assist with maintaining system duty while in change-over operation.
3. Check and double check the installation of each, LP(suction), HP/LP(discharge or suction) & liquid pipe connection (if you hear the sound of a vuvuzela in heating operation you'll know you've crossed the pipes)!
Outdoor unit(s)
1. Check and double check the installation of each, LP(suction), HP/LP(discharge or suction) & liquid pipe connection
2. Each module requires it's own independant circuit breaker if installaing a twin, triple or quad outdoor system.
3. If installing a multi module, read the refnet installation guide!
4. It has H/P switch of 33 bar. Pressure test around this range.
Test run
1. Test run will carry out piping/wiring check, contamination operation and system auto charge so read and understand the manual before any test run is carried out.
2. Once the test run is complete you set a dip switch to isolate the contamination filter from system.Last edited by AbsoluteWDJ; 17-11-2011 at 09:23 PM. Reason: grammer
