    Altherma Combination Valve

    Morning Gents

Can any one tell me what the 4 ports on the altherma combination valve are for. I believe one is for cold water in, another is for cold water out (to the hot water cylinder) and a third is for the pressure relief valve.

I understand the 4th connection is capped off, but why include such a connection.

Also if the combination valve restricts the water pressure to 2.1bar, is a separate pressure reducing valve needed on the cold water outlets to balance the pressure at mixer valves etc

    Thanks in advance

You've answered your own question mate.
The 'spare' outlet is for cold water to the rest of the house so that you have equal pressures at any mixer taps/showers. If you don't need it, just cap it off.
