    universal r type 4



    been useing the dixell uni r and j for some time but cant get on with the new type 4/ does anybody no if carel has had some input on them as it looks like a carel and seems harder to programe compared to th uni r version 3. controller has a lot more functions and i like the 240 or 12 volt option for supply but you still cant check evap probe without going into guarded access any input gents ta charlie off to grt some 974s now

    i'm a Dixell convert, i stay away from the universal range and use these ones: http://www.dixell.com/prime-cx/PRSER024/eng/

    Have you registered on the Dixell site? Well worth doing for programming info.

    Even with these though you have to go to second level parameters to check evap probe, one advantage the elliwell has over them.

    you can press the down arrow on Carel universal's to alternate the display on the control, ie B1 probe, B2 probe, DI 1, DI 2, St1 and St2. No special parameters need accessing.
    Although you need to cycle back to the desired "usual" display.
