    How much compressor power needed?

    Hi all,
I'd like to cool 2500 litre of water at the initial temperature of 31°C down to 3°C in about 8 hours time. How much compressor power do I need?
The water will in open environment with ambient temperature around 30°C.

    Thanks!

In a perfectly insulated tank, the cooling capacity required is 8750 Kcal/h, approx 10kW.
To this, the heat gain of the sun on the water surface must be added (radiation). It would equate to approx 2.5kW per square meter of water surface.
Convection of water vapour must be added to, considering the wind blowing on the water surface.
Finally, heat conduction of container must be added too.
