Hello.
Does anyone know what capacitor size is required for a 9,000 BTU standard single phase compressor?

Hi Kompulsa
all cap sizing differs, no good wild guessing
you will either need the original to match it with
the schematic for the compressor or the unit
or will need to ask supplier that stocks that compressor
or the manufacturer

Re: Capacitor Size Required for 9,000 BTU
Based on the supplied information i'd say, and i caution you its only a guess, one about 35mm round by 80mm long would do....
Always fit the same type and capacitance as fitted by the manufacturer, you can go higher on voltage but not lower. If all else fails, look at another unit by the same manufacturer and see whats on that one.Last edited by monkey spanners; 09-10-2011 at 06:45 PM.

Re: Capacitor Size Required for 9,000 BTU
I had caps that were faulty ( would not pass acceptance test as ESR was off scale) so sent back to stores. Got them back again, they did a VISUAL check, and found them within specs. Sent back again with leads cut off...

25mf 400volt capacitor will do the job.
