I did not know there is acetylen brazing without oxygen. What may be the temperature, and which copper pipe maximum it can properly heat?

Yuri, Rothenberger and Ridgid both make electro brazing units but they are pretty slow above 25mm pipe.

Hi ive got a rothernber 240v machine about 3meters cable on with tongs and weighs about roughly 10kg and its brilliant on small pipes upto 3/4 inch , ive used it on small tubes and on 5/8 tube you put it on about inch behind the joint and the area glows bright red with in seconds and the silver solder flows ,the joint has a very tidy finish, its good for confined spaces and small domestic to split units, but anything bigger you can,t beat oxy,acytlene

Have you tried it on 7/8 or 1"1/8 copper pipe?

These are common in my installations. I am aware that I must have oxy/acy. for thick 1"3/8 and larger pipes. But it would help a lot if I could use it for common pipes.

What is the ref. number of your Rothenberger device? I dont see it in the catalogue I have.

I read the tool description. Silver containing solders need higher temperature than Rotherm 2000 is intended to produce.

Hi its called rotherm 2000 soft soldering station its for 6mm to 54mm pipe on soft solder but ive used it on small pipes with silver solder and copper rods ,and as soon as the pipe goes red put your stick on it and flows beautiful

I have used a Ridgid unit but it was on 120Vac so i couldn't do more than 1" soft solder. I am looking into making an inductive heater for brazing in the shop. A bit tricky to make but it saves on gas.

Yes, for soft solder but you don't have to keep it on that long

Soft solder will not last like brazing with silfos, personally I don't like that choice but on the other hand, I make quite a lot from repairing leaks in units that have been soft soldered.

making good brazed joints has something to do with reputation.

I wasn't doing the fridge circuit with the soft solder. It was a water circuit.
