    Reliable Oil Pump Brand for Ammonia Screw Compressors

    Hi;

    We are a industrial refrigeration company in Turkey. We group our ammonia units mostly with J&E Hall blocks.

    I’d like to know oil pump manufacturers for this specific application.

    I know Tuthill and Viking. I e-mailed Tuthill a lot, no answers came. And I did not contacted Viking , I saw some shaft seal leaking of Vikings in some Fricks. I felt I couldn’t trust. Maybe I am wrong, a leaking is nothing for an experienced repair man.

    In the past Gram’s and Sabroe’s oils pumps were perfect. Who was their manufacturer? Or any good manufacturer you can advise of these specific pumps? (preferably in Europe)

    Thanks

    Blackergp

    Mycom & Viking are good but synthetic oil can cause some issues with seals leaking.
    HNBR '0' rings are common with Sabroe & Mycom in some newer shaft seals.

    I used to come across packages built by Kværner from Norway that used Kral oil pumps. I think you can find them through their representative in Turkey

    or you can go on their website and see what you find. www.krat.at

    Also Mycom (Mayekawa) oil pumps are pretty reliable I have worked with a lot of their M50-P pumps.

    Yeah, we used to deliver the units with the KRAL MFUG 55 pump, but the last 15 years we have been using the Viking pump with no problems.

    As long as you have a good oil temperature, and don't run it dry it should have the same service intervals as the compressor

    Oh and specify that the pump is to be used in an ammonia system, you will get a pump designed for it
    -Cheers-
