Anyone have an install/service manual for a Hitachi RAS-20CK?

Hi,
Ive tried Hitachi technical, unfortuanatly they say its too old(1994) and they have no info on it? strange i thought. I need the original ref charge and additional charge calculations if possable.

1980 that,just charge to 60 240, its about 16kg (twin compressor twin fan condenser r22

Theres about a 50m run in 3/4 pipe. I had thought about 25kg per system. Another company had quoted the customer a charge of 70kg, quite a discrepency.
I take it you mean around 16kg per system? (2 systems 32kg total per unit)

Hmmm! from my working out thats 2fans x 2systems x 50 divided by 3/4 + thawt25

yep per system,just bomb liquid then charge with vapur slowly moniter the sight glass if its feeding an ahu which runs on full fresh air then youll struggle with liquid flooding back

thank god for vectors haha be cheaper to fly to us bring a few dumpys back as opposed to r22r at £240 for 12kg

yeah jaylarc .. have you heard of vectors they can run half a charge if your only running chilled

How low do you want to go ?

you'll have to do oil an filters once or twice a year and keep a few sensors it all depends on running hours, if you dont do too many, you'll get away with once a year, go for vector II onwards though as they have had the upgrades, battery chargers are bit like her on blob on the original ones

They dont half look nice & you can add a few extra compartments (multi split) but it's not official & a real pain to balance the system.

Thanks for the help, though I should have said the customer was quoted 140kg per unit or 70kg per refrigerant system. Have any of you have any thoughts on R417a drop in for these? They are on dx ahu coils.

Sorry Jaylarc, you must think what *uck are these tw*ts on about, welcome to the madhouse mate, its not always like this its just install monkeys boss has just been cropping this week and he's been passing it around the lads, stay well back of any vents on your pc, then there's plenty of fish, you gotta join, mate between me & spencer had a dozen since xmas, I steer clear of drop in's when I can especially 400 series (glide) have noticed others have and seems ok apart from adding 30%+ compared with 22, dont know how but a couple have mentioned it

i know hitachi dont recommend replacements for the ras8-10fs/fx vrvs as for 20ck theyre just recips so i would think theyre ok for replacements.hey theyre out of warranty! best to check with hitatchi and get recommendations for a tested and proved replacement
