Scrapped Daikin 410a Inverter split as not cost effective to replace compressor

Well i said this to the engineers when we started installing them.

These Inverter boards look expensive, change a compressor with the inverte board is going to cost rather alot of money.

And today saw our first Just out of warranty Daikin 410a 4 way blow scrapped.

Cost to replace compressor and inverter board £ 1,500.00 + VAT

Cost to scrap it and install a MHI cassette with a 5 year warranty £ 2,200.00 + VAT

You can guess which option the customer went for.

MHI with a 5 year warranty? Who from?
    Normally only 3 year.
If in doubt read the instructions. If still in doubt follow them.

Thought that it was known from day one that it would be cheaper to replace the outdoor rather than the compressor and that it was standard practice except where outdoor was difficult to replace i.e a roof top
