Have you tried Grasso at Ross-on-Wye?
They are always my first point of call for Grasso parts

    Hi.
    I agree with Plank.
I have sent you their Parts price list as of 2011.
I hope you guys get discount?
Alternatively I have used a shaft seal refurb company named Latty before for Grasso s/seals.
I cannot help with numbers though, so maybe google will help.

no we dont get discount, but according to staff there is a refurbed one on site but they dont know where we have just rebuilt this machine and its leaking oil slightly a half litre a week so just enquiring before we remove grasso,s prices are steep!

I agree with your concern 1/2 a litre a week does sound as if there is a problem.
There is a drip rate but have not got the info to hand.
You don't say how far the rebuild went?
From my experience the type of seal used can be a major factor.
The newer style Crane (Bellows Type) don't allow for as much lateral crankshaft movement before they fail.
I always preferred the older leaf or coil spring styles, particularly when the comp is older and the thrust ring is more worn.
I am assuming following the rebuild the Oil Diff has been checked and trimmed as necessary via the Oil Pressure Regulator.
Because you can get around 18-19 bar oil pressure internally if not trimmed correctly and no seal can deal with that sort of pressure
I say this to help others reading this as I know you already know what you are doing Cadwaladr.
All comp spares are expensive until you divide the cost by the no of trouble free run hrs.
Grasso's are very reliable and and work out very cheap long term.
Did the Shaft seal get disturbed or changed at the rebuild?
Just out of interest what oil are you running on?
    Good luck Grizzly

    Hi Cadwalr

I will be able to source you a shaft seal for the compressor and probably at a reduced rate as we get a good discount and are only based up in Scotland. Let me no if you would like a price

    Regards

    Lee
