Evaporator piping breakage in Carrier chillers
Good afternoon Everybody
I'm back after along silence here with a question , there is anybody that has experienced breakage on brand new Carrier chillers due to defective evaporator pipes?
We just delivered a brand new ship with 4 Carrier 19XR chillers installed, at the start up one of them already have one pipe leaking in the evaporator , one month after delivery another chiller has been found completely empty (525Kg of ref.!!!) , and on other two ,some refrigerant has been already lost, some leaks were discovered on the safety valves, but even with the safety valves closed during the pressure test, the chillers are still leaking . And been in the Med in the middle of the summer knowing that your chillers could break down all together , it is scaring...
Any comment or previous experience will be appreciated.

Re: Evaporator piping breakage in Carrier chillers
Possibilities, evap tubes over expanded, incorrectly expanded or not expanded on internal support sheets. Lofin tubng over rolled and cracking at root of low fin.
What are Carrier saying/ doing about all the faults? Would seem to a disaster inprogress. Definitly scary.
