Chest freezer condenser & comp burning hot

    Hello guys,
Ive got a problem with a chest freezer, its running r404a and the condenser + compressor seems to be getting very hot (excess of 60degrees) electrically the unit is sound and the condenser is clean, there is only a low side port which has a pressure of 1.5bar when running. The unit is fine when initially switched on, over a period of a couple of weeks it starts getting very hot on the high side.
    Any pointers would be appreciated.

Lets see. Is the freezer holding temperature of -18C or zero degrees F? If so than there is no need to be concerned. All chest freezers,(domestic), in this part of the world are running R134a, though recently changing to R600a. If compressor is not noisy then let the freezer do it's job and don't focus on compressor temperature or how long it runs for over a 24 hour period .. mike.

If it is a rotary type compressor, then the compressor casing is on the high side and it is supposed to be hot.

cheers for the replies guys, its a hermetic compressor so its low. its quite a large freezer, it holds temp for about 2 weeks then starts to get warmer however it never gets fully warm running at -20 for a few weeks then gradually warming upto around -8.
