LG LS-H246TNBO air con issue - start relay?

Hi fellas, came across an older (approx 6 years) LG split system unit which seems to have an issue. Not sure on history of the unit (it does not have any refrigerant due to previous dodgy removal), basically once switched on to cooling mode I could hear a constant clicking coming from the outdoor unit but nothing else. Popped off the cover to discover a relay on the PCB was continously clicking, say once per second. According to the wiring diagram it appears to be the start cap relay (RY-S/CAPA) which had a yellow lead going to cap terminal. The cap itself tested ok. Also, the indoor unit appeared to be throwing out a fault code. The green power light would turn on, turn off for about 2-3 seconds, light up again with a quick beep and stay lit for 5 seconds. Turn off again for 2 secs, return with a quick beep then stay on for 5 etc etc. Indoor fan remained off and oddly not even the louvers would change position. Any ideas? Thanks in advance

Shortage of gas firstly, possibly broken compressor secondly.
