custom household fridge using secondary refrigerant

    Hi,
I'm not an engineer, I just know a little about refrigeration because of having commercial stuff built for my fish factory. Please can someone advise, am I likely to find an "off the shelf" chiller that could be useful for this job?

I want to build an insualted cupboard to replace my home fridge. (Am planning to use large draws like sausepan draws. Timber panelling over the insualtion.) For cooling I want to pump a secondary refrigerant like propylene glycol. I guess the coil in my cupboard wants to be just above freezing temp. What evaporator temp am I likely to want at my chiller? And can "off the shelf" chiller like a potable water cooler work effectively at this evaporator temp?

    Charlie

    Hi Charlie Mason.
I can only suggest finding a boat builder that does launches, high end stuff, they will have a marine refrig supplier. That will advise on eutectic plates and temps etc.., For the chiller, some one that supplys post mix syrup line coolers. Do not know how small they go.
