good engineer

It's no doubt good engineer is in demand everywhere.
But how to be a good engineer and what ability is needed for it?

Hands on engineering ability
Free Thinking
Ability to think technically
Comprehension of basic principles
Common Sense and rationale
Ability to work out sequence of events
Troubleshooting capability
Non Plussed by size

To this I add:

No everyone has a "natural" technical bias.........I for one am not a natural, but I am better at delegating and organising things, projects.

In my time I have across "natural engineers" They have this ability or knack, not to get ruffled, but smoothly work out things and find probs quick.

Engineers to whom Mathematics and Science is easy are ultimately the " Best" Engineers.

Not only do they understand why things work, they also can figure out why , and ifs,

Understanding/loyal wife
No real need for any sleep,
Don`t mind dirty, cramped, hot, awkward conditions,
No fear of falling through a suspended ceiling while leak testing,
No pain barrier,
Cuts that heal quick, even limbs that can grow back,
No life,

Boy what a good career this is.lol

LOL chillin out all the above is helpfull but we must love it as we do it everyday.
