Shell Clavus 68 NO-MORE!
Yep.
I received a call from one of my Ammonia Plant customers today.
Asking my advice on a suitable replacement for Clavus 68 oil. As his supplier had informed him that it was not available anymore.
I did not even know it was being withdrawn.
I just did a quick check and yep its true.

Re: Shell Clavus 68 NO-MORE!
Hi, Grizzly
Thanks for info ...
for me it is normal, not exactly, but ... reducing number of product results in reducing of production costs .... changing the name with one additional number or letter give you a chance to increase the price for that product, because it is "new" and "much better" then the old one ... very simple way to make more profit .... or I am wrong .... all became "unisex" like clothes some years ago
Best regards, Josip

Grizzly,
Suniso 4GS is the same thing as Clavus 68 I believe.
Best do your own research , but we have changed it with no problems.
Alot of oils are repackaged Suniso oil.

Ranger
You are as usual spot on there my friend.
I just advised my customer to specify a Mineral based Oil ISO-68 and see what option his supplier came back with.
There are not that many supplying 68 grade mineral oil anymore most seem to want semi or fully synthetic used.
Which as I am sure you know changing over from mineral can cause problems.
