    Which Ester Oil?

I have cellar Cooling System running on R407c. The Compressor (Copeland Scroll) is low on oil. I know I need an Ester oil But which one? I took note where the compressor says POE but the only other details were the amounts it needs in 0z and L. Also where should the oil level sit on the sight glass? I want to avoid taking the old oil out and re-charging if I can.

    Thanks in advance guy's!!

    Re: Which Ester Oil?

Emkarate 32 MAF oil, available in 1L tins from climate. I'd aim for an oil level between 1/2 and 3/4 full with the comp off. Sometimes with those scrolls they seem to spin the oil round in the sump like stiring a cup of tea so it's difficult to get a good idea when they are running. Also need to run it long enough to be sure all the round the system has returned, especially if it has lost refrigerant at the same time as the oil that is missing. Also bear in mind too frequent cycling will pump the oil out quicker than it returns.
Mostly found in Oxfordshire, UK :)

    .

All the other advice is good but you need to find where the oil went before adding
new. I know you would do that anyway, so I'm teaching you how to suck eggs
but don't add oil if the oil has not leaked out. Find out where the oil is.

Do not add oil till you know where it went as Coolrunings said.
How can you tell its low on oil?
Look @ the hole system not just one part.

    Re: Which Ester Oil?

I'd previously been and repaired a leak. There's oil all over the consensing unit so I'm pretty sure where most of the oil went
All input is good input guys, sucking eggs or not!! Cheers
