    carrier 30sp-011 e08

Evening all, working on a 30sp-011 that keeps popping out on E 08 fault. Got a good idea that it maybe a water flow problem (ie blocked heat ex or wonky pump) but the kind bods who installed it in 96 didn't bother with any water gauges etc. When running getting 4k superheat and a decent td on evap inlet outlet. Probes reading ok too. Any other ideas?

    Ta

flow switch? possibly sticking if the fault is intermitant try linking it out and watch the chiller carefully as if the flow does fail you can cause serious damage to the machine, better still change it after 15 vyears a new one wont cause any harm

I would have thought if the strainer was blocked then the unit would trip on lp or have a high temp diff accross the cooler also a high superheat

Ta for the replies.... Turns out after more testing the pcb is knackered. The fault had no relation to the operation of the system. Also possibly the most expensive board in the world!!!!
