HC-22a VS R-22
Hi all. i would like to get some info from you guys, regarding on these 2 refrigerant. Recently my company asked me to find the COP for these 2 refrigerants. HC-22a will be a drop-in replacement for R-22a as the supplier proposed to the company. How do i calculate COP for the chiller based on these 2 refrigerant? Please help as i'm really new to this refrigeration system..

Re: HC-22a VS R-22
Hi Hello,
Iam going to Retrofitt R290 in R22 split air conditioner of capacity 18000 Btu,for performance testing , with no modification in the system , is there any leak testing alarm devices available to sense the leakage in the system , The system is tested in a closed psychrometric room at various conditions.

Re: HC-22a VS R-22
Simply stated, COP = (useful refrigeration) / (net work).
The COP of a simple Carnot cycle can be stated as:
COP = (T1(s1-s4)) / ((T2-T1)(s1-s4))
COP = T1 / (T2-T1)
s = entropy (BTU/ (lb)(degree Rankin)
T = temperature (rankin)

I had to correct my formula...fat fingers and a slow brain.
T3 = T2
and T4 = T1
