Legal Application of ASHRAE 15
My industrial site (USA) has several refrigeration machine rooms built over many years. Does anyone know, or know where I can get information on, whether machine rooms need to be bought up to meet ASHRAE 15 standards from both from a legal perspective and safety perspective? Thanks,

A breif outline of ASHRAE 15 would help. Different countries have different standards for health and safety etc..
For a start check with your local code of compliance requirements, a call to insurance provider will create an avalanche of information and there out clauses.

Get with your insurance company and have a mechanical integrity audit done. Your insurance carrier will probably have a company they have used at other similar facilities.
Once you have the report you can come up with a plan to correct any problems.
This is a legal/regulatory type situation so (in my opinion) you want to outsource it. Yes, you could buy all the books, forms and do the work, but I don't recommend that for the reasons listed below:
1) Self policing is suspect
2) This is the first inspection you have ever done (of this type)
3) It's a lot of work.....do you have the time?
