    fire dampers

i'm a self employed AC / Refrigeration Engineer and i'm about to get involved with Offshore accomodation and workspace modules. A60, zone 1 + 2 Atex rated etc, Automatic fail safe fire dampers
The AC side of this is not an issue but as far as pressurisation fans and fire dampers go my knowledge is pretty limited. Does anyone have any advice on how to balance the fans and set up fire dampers? Any literature that i could maybe look up online? I want to make sure i'm as clued up as i can be before i get stuck in.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

I assume you are in the UK...but even if you are not...these people design and manufacture fire dampers and from my experience, they appear to be the biggest in the UK. Have a look around their site or e-mail them for additional info if you can't find it.

When I worked on the offshore modules some years back, these people were specified suppliers.

    Re: fire dampers

There are quite a few manufacturers who make fire dampers, but the atex directive now requires that equipment in Haz areas is suitably certified to ATEX stadards.

We used to use blast dampers which are a fire and blast protection device. Trox used to make them but I don't know if they do now as many manufacturers backed off from manufacturing these devices due to the high standard spec of ATEX.

I recon if you do a search you'll find something useful
    Here's one I found
