Yes, it is true. There will be a name change for Sanyo towards the end of the year, all under the Panasonic brand.

Re: Panasonic buy out of Sanyo
Is sanyo still big in europe?
Just asking because panasonic has been big in AU since they were "national", and really popular recently. While sanyo used to be common but all disappeared now. So maybe pana taking over sanyo is all about getting pana big in europe.
Panasonic is pretty good gear and what I sell mainly now, older stuff wasn;t that great, but you have the daikin tech link with pana as well and pana is reasonably pricedLast edited by paul_h; 06-02-2011 at 02:41 PM.

Re: Panasonic buy out of Sanyo
HI Guys,
Panasonic have purchased SANYO this is ongoing since 2008 . But more recently SANYO is 100% owned by Panasonic.
SANYO Aircon will continue as normal for the forseeable future. What happens beyond this I can't say. This is a good move for both SANYO and Panasoic. They complement eachother well so lets see what next year brings
