panasonic/ daikin vrv2

Hi people, hoping someone could help.. basically got a problem on a panasonic vrv2 (which is basically a daikin)! not got very far with panasonic tech.
whats happening is..... i have 11 indoors on the system, nearest the outdoor i have 2 indoors with their own controls which work fine, then the next 4 units down which have 2 controls to 2 units, these units do nothing, no heating or cooling at all. no faults on control, tried in test with no result. the next 2 units down are fine. then the next 2 units are icing up when turned off, unit furthest from condenser works fine!! hope this makes sense.
spoke to panasonic he reckons all expansion valves need replacing which i find unlikely? tried to recalibrate 1 valve by switching blue/yellow with no luck. forgot to mention.. turned off all units except 2 indoors which weren't doing anything, outdoor unit runs but still no performance on indoor units.

can the outdoor detect all the indoors?
float switch disabling unit,fault codes inc previous ones in setting mode 41.
gas charge correct,operating pressures.

I reckon it will be the electronic heads on the expansion devices.
